Wanted to hold onto this guy, but just have too many rams with the addition of the new USA boys. He is proven and ready for this years breeding season.

This ram has upgrades in his background so can not be Canadian Registered, but it will be far enough back that his offspring can be duel registered.

This rams 1/2 brother (whom I do not own, I own the dam) has semen in the tank for export, thus these genetics are favorable

When Selecting Our Breeding Stock the following considerations and checks are done at 50 days, weaning (100 days) & maturity (1 year):

- Maternal Traits of the Dam
- Rate of Gain
- Lamb Vigor
- Straight Back, Legs, Feet,Teeth
- Testicles / Teats
(two of each and proper size)
- Body Confirmation / Size
- Hair Coat (We Strive for "AA")

- Docile Temperament
- Mature Rams may be semen tested
The Katahdin, being a hybrid breed, can have these traits show up inconsistently in different dams & sires. What we continue to strive for is consistency within a hybrid breed. We keep and use only the best of the best so as we don't compromise one trait for the sake of another. All of the characteristics are important and should be available in a well balanced animal, Rams, Ewes and Lambs alike.
AVERY's Katahdins participate in all provincial & federal health programs. Health issues experienced by an animal on our farm will be shared on our blog. We extend full disclosure to all of our buyers of breeding and commercial stock. We will never, sell an animal with undisclosed health issues.

The boys (DJA53W & VJ9004W) have finally arrived. We're at a loss for words, we have been breeding katahdins for a few years now, have been to Ontario a few times looking for good rams, have bought a couple out your way, but I have never seen this quality of animals before in person. All the pictures you have sent us over the past few weeks don't do the boys justice. There size, the bone, the muscle that they are carrying is incredible.
